Visiting Gaza Strip as a Palestinian

About the film

Nidal Bulbul has not seen his parents and ten siblings for more than four years. Born in Gaza and now a German citizen, he has built a new life running a café in Berlin. As renewed escalation looms, he sells the café and sets off to visit his family. The film follows his journey through Israel towards Gaza, as he waits to find out whether the authorities will let him cross. The original ARTE report first aired in 2018; DW published the English version in 2019 as Visiting Gaza Strip as a Palestinian. This is a separate film from Getting Out of Gaza, released in 2024.
